100 to 200

The Graph below show the range of predicted times for the 200m using an athlete's best 100m time. It is calculated from a formula derived by watching top Athletes at the Rome World Championships 1987 and Seoul Olympics 1988. There is a table below with the raw data from which the graph is drawn and the ranges cover the times expected of very good Young Athletes in the age range 10 to 16 years. It only applies to fully trained young Athletes at the peak of their ability and should only be viewed in context of their Coach's ability, facilities and time of the year.

The table below has the raw data from which the graph above was drawn. Should you wish to extrapolate the data to cover other times the formulae are as follows:

	The 1st Half Split is 97% of the Best 100m time
	The 2nd Half worst is the 1st Half plus 2 seconds
	The 200m Best is the sum of the two halves, minus 1 second, minus 1% of the 100m Best
	The 200m Worst is the sum of the two halves
