What sorts of things do Athletes normally do and how do they do them?

Where can I find out more about Athletics for young people in the UK?

Athletes all buy Athletics Weekly every week – from large newsagents. This contains details of all meetings and how to enter, plus results from most meetings. Most subscribe to Athletics Weekly as they are too tired to go to the shops from training! To subscribe, telephone 01858 438823

Sportshall is an excellent way to have fun and develop your all-round Athletics ability. It will make you fitter, stronger and faster which will help you in every other sport that you do. They have a great web-site, which has been improved  recently and can be found at http://www.sportshall.org

If you want to know what the records for events by age group and gender are, the definitive list is held at http://www.gbrathletics.com

The governing body of Athletics is UK Athletics, who have a good web-site although mainly geared up for elite Athletes from 13 years old and upwards – well worth a look http://www.ukathletics.net

The best web-site for Youth Athletics in the UK is http://www.boja.org – it contains information about almost everything that you need to know and has links to all the other sites that you and your Parents may need

How do you find out where your next meeting is? There is a great site which has a map for every Athletics venue in the country – easy to use and you can print maps to any scale: http://www.runtrackdir.com

English Schools Athletics Association web-site is at http://www.esaa.net

Most Athletes use the web regularly – explore and find out all you want to….
