![]() | This page contains information about the events and specifications used for each age group and gender for the main combined event competitions. As well as the main combined event competitions, there are school combined events, Sportshall events and many combinations run at County and Regional level that differ slightly. Tables used for Young people do not always match up to those below, for example, there are no 70/75/80mHurdles (if I find some, I will publish them). At each level, I have tried to state the scoring tables that are used. These scoring tables are very difficult to come by and could potentially be a deterent to trying out combined events. If you cannot get you hands on the tables, please e-mail me to see if I can help at coach@boja.org. Not only do I have tables, I have also had the same problem and can direct you to where they might be. There are also some scoring tables which even I, still, cannot get.
How are combined event scores calculated?Answer:Simple formulae - see below example Track events are calculated by the formula P = a*(b-T)^c, where
Jumps are calculated by the formula P = a*(M-b)^c, where
Throws are calculated by the formula P = a*(D-b)^c, where
Note: auto means electronic timing. Where manual timing is used, points are calculated by adding a standard adjustment factor to the time, which is: 0.24 sec for events below 400m and 0.14sec for 400m. There are no adjustments for events above 400m. Points values are rounded down to the nearest integer in all cases. With the above information, you should be able to construct your own marking sheets in a simple spreadsheet. E-mail me if you want me to e-mail you my excel sheets (free): combined-events@boja.org
